Rotary Recreation Parking Lot

The parking lot at Rotary Recreation Park has come to the end of its life cycle and needs to be re-paved. The new parking lot design will improve traffic flow, lighting and storm water management.

Work is scheduled to continue until July 2017 (weather dependent). Construction will be phased in order to maintain operations and to provide limited accessible parking near the Recreation Centre, Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery and Golden Circle.

While parking is limited on site, parking is available at the gravel lot near the Tennis Courts, the Sorensen Station Parkade and the surface lot P7 adjacent to the Blue Grass Sod Farm Central Spray and Play. MAG visitors can also park at the MAG staff parking lot, behind the museum.

Weekly Project Update

This week (July 21 – 25) the following work is happening:

  • Line painting will continue.
  • Curbs and gutters will be formed and concrete poured.
  • Sign post bases to be installed.

Closures and Detours:

  • To accomodate landscaping, small sections of the parking lot will be closed intermittently.

Parking:

Accessible on-site parking is available on the north side of the parking lot until mid-July and then will switch to the south east side when paving starts.  There continues to be accessible parking behind the Golden Circle for Golden Circle visitors.  Parking options include the parking lot near the tennis courts, the surface lot near the Blue Grass Sod Farm Central Spray & Play (P7), the Sorensen Station Parkade, and the staff parking lot behind the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG) for MAG visitors.
