You’ll need a building permit and an electrical permit to place a hot tub on your property.

The building permit can be obtained by the home owner. 

The electrical permit can ONLY be obtained by a master electrician who holds a valid City of Red Deer business license.

Here are some things to keep in mind when making an application for a hot tub:

  • Hot tubs must be located a minimum of 0.9 metres from the side and rear property lines
  • A yard must be fenced for any site which contains an outdoor hot tub
