LED Street Light Program

The street light replacement was identified as a priority action in the Environmental Master Plan that the City will expand the energy efficient streetlight program and work towards reducing the effects of light pollution. Other benefits include:

  • Expected energy reduction by 50 per cent
  • Longer lifespan
  • Improved lighting quality

All new subdivisions built after 2011 already have LED streetlights. Since 2014, all burnt out streetlights have been replaced with LEDs.
