Artist Statement and Philosophy
I am interested in capturing everyday life that presents itself to me. Everything is a possibility. What I observe and capture in the four boundaries of my lens, peaks my interest and raises questions and answers. Observing where I am, what is going on around me, form, color, light, gesture, mood and patterns. My photography is not about one thing it is about everything. The more I observe the more that is revealed to me in my subject's subtleties. I love being aware in the present seeing things and capturing them in a way that makes the ordinary extraordinary.
Recently I have decided to pursue showing my work in galleries and art venues. I am pursuing this new undertaking with great fervour.
Quote by which my philosophy is best summarized"Without touching my subject I want to come to the moment when, through pure concentration of seeing, the composed picture becomes more made than taken. Without a descriptive caption to justify its existence, it will speak for itself - less descriptive, more creative; less informative, more suggestive - less prose, more poetry." Ernst Haas
