Outdoor Skating

Red Deer offers 73 outdoor skating rinks for public use. Each site is maintained by the Parks Section and includes boarded rinks for hockey/ringette, snowbank rinks for leisure skating, as well as three pond skating locations.

As well, the City's Recreation Department maintains a Speed Skating Oval for public use, located in Great Chief Park. Public skating will open Monday, December 17 and the schedule will be as follows:

Thursday 11:30 am = 1:30 pm
Friday 6 pm - 8:30 pm
Saturday 1 pm - 3 pm
