Looking for just the right mix of fun and chill on Canada Day? Look no further than Canada Day celebrations at Bower Ponds on Monday, July 1!

Take a walk around the trails, rent a paddleboat on the ponds, hit the playground or bouncy houses with the kids then pull up a blanket on the hill and check out the entertainment on the outdoor stage.

Featuring a variety of foods from around the world, and a spectacular fireworks display, this is the place to be on July 1.

Hours: Event starts at 11 a.m. and fireworks are set off approximately 11 p.m.

Bus Information and Park & Ride

Park & Ride Service every 15 minutes from Sorensen Station to Bower Ponds.

  • First departure is at 10:45 a.m. and will continue until the fireworks. Service resumes after the fireworks end.

Parking: There will be no parking at Bower Ponds, Great Chief Park, Capstone at Riverlands or surrounding area so take advantage of the convenient Park & Ride at Sorensen Station downtown (4830 48 St, Red Deer). Parking is free at the Sorensen Station parkade, nearby City lots and on-street. The parkade opens at 10 a.m. and closes shortly after midnight.

Bus fares: Fares are cash only please:

  • $1 for adults
  • 50 cents for children
