Residential parking bans begin this week for street sweeping

April 18, 2016 11:22 AM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Residents will soon notice ‘no-parking’ signs in their neighbourhood as crews begin residential street sweeping this week.

Red ‘no-parking’ will be placed every 50m a minimum of 12 hours before sweeping begins. Any vehicle that is parked on a signed street will be ticketed and towed as parked vehicles slow down cleaning operations and performance. Once a street is swept, signs are removed and parking is permitted.

Grey Routes (side residential streets) will be swept first, followed by Green Routes (collector streets) in the following order:

Riverside Meadows, Fairview, Oriole Park, Highland Green, Normandeau, Glendale, Johnstone, Kentwood, West Park, South Hill, Bower, Sunnybrook South, Inglewood, Vanier, Lancaster, Anders, Sunnybrook, Mountview, Morrisroe, Deer Park, Eastview, Grandview, Michener Hill, Parkvale, Woodlea, Waskasoo, Clearview Meadows, Rosedale, Timberlands, College Park, Clearview Ridge, and Garden Heights.

Pedestrians and motorists are asked to be cautious around street sweeping equipment by staying at least three car lengths away to avoid injury or damage from flying debris.
