Red Deer Transit announces fare changes effective September 1

Transit users are advised that increases to Transit fares will take effect September 1, 2016. The City of Red Deer increases Transit rates annually in response to inflation and expenses. With the increase, single fare fees will cost users an additional five cents per ride.

Fare increases:
Effective September 1, single cash fares are as follows:

Adults (18 to 64 years) $2.55
Youth (6 to 17 years) $2.25
Students $2.25
Seniors (65+ years) $2.25
Children (5 and under, except in preschool groups) $Free
Preschool groups $2.25 per two children

Monthly Bus Passes:

Adult $70.00
Student/Senior $60.00
Senior GIS subsidized monthly passes $34.00

12-Ride MyRide Cards

Adult  $26.00
Student/Youth/Senior $23.00

 Restricted Passes

Restricted passes  $47.00
Restricted passes are available to students attending grades 1 – 12 and are available only from the school the student attends.

Monthly passes are loaded onto the new MyRide cards, which are available for purchase at Transit Customer Service in Sorenson Station Transit Terminal downtown and City Hall, and reloaded at sales outlets that previously sold Transit passes. Customers are reminded there is a $5 charge for new and replacement MyRide Cards.
