Online survey for outdoor ice use

February 29, 2016 3:58 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

An online survey about Red Deer’s outdoor ice rinks launches today with The City looking to Red Deerians for information about their use and experience using outdoor rinks in the community.

The survey will run from February 29 to March 21 with The City seeking information about everything from when, why and how citizens currently use outdoor ice, as well as what they hope to see in the future.

Over the past several weeks, The City surveyed more than 100 people at the 71 boarded and snow bank rinks in Red Deer. The online survey will give those outdoor ice users who didn’t participate an opportunity to give their input and share their thoughts.

The online survey is just one component of an overall Ice Facilities Plan being completed by The City of Red Deer.

The Ice Facilities Plan will assess current indoor and outdoor ice facility use, consider the state of existing infrastructure, and provide recommendations for when and where The City should focus future facility development and service delivery.
