Calling all Green Deerians

(Red Deer, Alberta)

Residents are invited to participate in the Red Deer River Cleanup this Sunday.

As part of the Green Deer campaign, this annual spring initiative draws volunteers from across the area to keep the river and shoreline clean and safe.

Pre-registration is not required, but volunteers are asked to bring gloves and wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Partners of the Red Deer River Cleanup include The City of Red Deer, NOVA Chemicals and Trout Unlimited Canada. The event will end with a barbecue and a draw for prizes.

Volunteers who want more information on the cleanup can call 403-309-8411.

Date: Sunday, June 5, 2016

Time: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Where: Kerry Wood Nature Centre, 6300 45 Avenue, Red Deer
