Homes in Normandeau under boil water advisory

March 16, 2016 1:04 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Twenty-two residences on Niven Street and Nichols Crescent are under a boil water advisory until further notice due to a water leak.

Water is currently shut off to the affected residences and crews are working to fix the leak. As soon as water is restored, the affected residents are advised to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute, prior to drinking, cooking, washing food, or brushing teeth.

The boil water advisory was issued as a precautionary measure. Once the repair is made, The City will send water samples to Alberta Health Services to ensure no contamination.

City staff have already advised the affected residences door-to-door. In the case that no one answered, a notice and information package was left on the front door or in the mailbox.
