(Red Deer, Alberta)

The City of Red Deer is pleased to announce the launch of the Rising Sport Stars program to recognize the dedication and efforts of local young athletes.

Many youth are active in our community playing one or more sports. These young athletes are just beginning their journey to success in these sports and a lifelong journey of being active.

“The Rising Sports Stars program was created to celebrate the efforts of these young athletes, and to support and encourage them to continue their personal and athletic development,” said Rob Meckling, Community and Program Facilitator.

Through the new Rising Sports Stars program, athletes aged 11 years or younger who participate in a Red Deer sports organization are recognized for their commitment, passion, effort, or for overcoming adversity to successfully participate and develop skills, regardless of results.
