Red Deer RCMP look for woman passing counterfeit US currency

August 10, 2016 10:05 AM

Red Deer, Alberta – Red Deer RCMP are asking for public assistance to identify a woman who was caught on camera trying to pass counterfeit US money on three separate occasions at fast food drive-throughs.

The suspect attempted to pay with a counterfeit US $50 then a counterfeit US $20 three times within a 24 hour period, according to staff; the third attempt on July 18 was unsuccessful, as the staff member recognized the currency was fake and refused to accept it.

RCMP encourage anyone who deals with cash to scrutinize bills before accepting them, and to educate themselves about the security features on Canadian and US currency.

Please see attached surveillance image of the suspect.

If you recognize this woman, please contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403.343.5575. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.8477 or report it online.
