Social Services Support for COVID-19

Effective April 21, the Government of Alberta will be temporarily suspending applications for the $30 million in emergency social services funding to support the COVID-19 response. Read more below.

The Province announced $30 million in one-time funding to support charitable and non-profit organizations to provide help to individuals, seniors, families and other vulnerable populations who are isolated or impacted by COVID-19, with applications to be administered through FCSS supports. Applications are now open to eligible organizations within the Red Deer and District geographical area.

Note: Effective April 21, 2020, the Government of Alberta will be temporarily suspending applications for the $30 million in emergency social services funding to charities, not-for-profits and civil society organizations to support their COVID-19 response. Government has received over 600 applications. Current applications are being reviewed, and approvals for urgent requests will occur before reopening intake of applications.

Application Process

  2. Complete a Social Services Support for COVID-19 Funding Request Form.
  3. Email completed funding request form to fcss@reddeer.ca.
