Red Deer RCMP investigate erratic driver that fled from police

Red Deer, Alta. – On Aug. 29, 2019 at approximately 4:22 p.m. Red Deer RCMP were investigating a possession of stolen property complaint near 41 Avenue (4000 block) in Red Deer, Alta. During the investigation police observed an occupied vehicle with a stolen plate near the property.

Police advised the male driver of the vehicle he was under arrest and the driver fled nearly hitting the members on scene. Shortly after police received several calls of an erratic driver that was reported to have hit parked vehicles and almost collided with a child pedestrian. Police have determined it to be the same vehicle that fled the original scene.

Police have since located the vehicle and are still seeking to locate the male driver involved. The suspect was last seen in the Riverside Meadow area of Red Deer.

The public will notice an increase in police presence in the Riverside Meadows area along with the assistance of the RCMP helicopter.
