Classes are held at spacious Setters Place at Great Chief Park where there’s plenty of room to be active while staying physically distant. Pre-registration is required to participate.

How to register

What to bring

We recommend bringing the following items to each class.

  • Water bottle
  • Mat or towel
  • Sweat towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat
  • Until further notice, we will not be lending out equipment. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment such as:
    • Free weights
    • Resistance bands

Requirements

  • Pre-registration is required to participate. Online registration closes one hour before start time.
  • No access to change rooms; arrive dressed to work out. (Washrooms are available.)
  • Arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to class and leave immediately after class.
  • Please use hand sanitizer before and after class.
  • Physical distancing is required; please remain 3 metres away from others.
  • Equipment is not provided. Sharing of equipment is not permitted.
  • Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should refrain from attending class.
  • A minimum of 2 participants are required for classes to run as scheduled.
  • Inclement weather will result in the cancellation of class. Participants will receive a full refund if a class is cancelled.

Outdoor Fitness - Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we hosting outdoor fitness classes?

Outdoor fitness allows us to bring back City-run fitness classes in a safe way prior to opening our facilities. Through Outdoor Fitness Activity Reservations, customers can access to the same high-energy, highly-trained instructors that patrons have come to know and love.

What type of classes are available?

A variety of high and moderate-intensity classes including cardio and strength training will be offered at program start-up. More low-intensity options such as gentle, low-impact and yoga classes will be available as the weather warms up. See the full schedule of classes and descriptions at https://looknbook.reddeer.ca.

Where are the outdoor fitness classes located?

Outdoor fitness classes are held at Setters Place at Great Chief Park.

What ages can participate?

All adult fitness and yoga classes require participants to be 14 years or older.

What is the price per class?

Individual Activity Reservations are available for $5.40 per class, or gain unlimited access to both Outdoor and Virtual Fitness opportunities with the Value Pass for just $27 per month.

Is there a monthly pass for both Outdoor and Virtual Fitness?

Yes, the Value Pass is a monthly pass option that allows unlimited access to both the Outdoor and Virtual Fitness classes. This pass is available for $27 per month. You can purchase the Value Pass on Look 'n Book.

What safety measures are in place?

We have worked hard to prepare for outdoor fitness classes in a safe, spacious environment. Hand sanitizer is provided for use before and after class, physical distancing of at least 3 metres between participants is implemented for high intensity activities, and shared equipment has been eliminated. Class sizes will be capped at 9 participants per session.

How can I register?

You can register online via Look 'n Book or by phone at 403-309-8411.

Can I use credits to register online?

Yes, due to a recent software update credits are now available for use through your Look ‘n Book account.

If I need to cancel, can I get a refund?

You can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours prior to the scheduled class without penalty. Refunds will not be given to “no shows.”

Those with monthly passes are still asked to cancel the classes they can no longer attend in order to allow others to participate.

If the class is cancelled due to inclement weather, will I receive a refund or credit?

In the event of inclement weather, outdoor fitness classes are cancelled a minimum of 60 minutes prior to the class start time. Participants will receive a full refund in this scenario.

How will I be notified of a cancelled class?

In the event of inclement weather, all registered participants will be notified via email a minimum of 60 minutes prior to class.

If I can’t attend, can someone else take my place?

Due to important tracking protocols for the COVID-19 pandemic, only those names on the registration list are permitted to attend. Class registrations are not transferrable.

Can I bring my children with me to class?

Unfortunately at this time, no additional children or spectators are permitted at class. Due to COVID-19 public health restrictions, only those registered for the class are able to attend.
