As part of the ongoing response to COVID-19, customers can defer water, sewer and waste utility payments for 90 days with no penalties, if they are struggling to pay their bills.

Is The City allowing utility payment deferral?

Recognizing that many citizens in Red Deer may be experiencing significant economic impacts stemming from the COVID-19 situation, residential, farm and small commercial customers can defer their utility payment for water, sewer and waste for 90 days.

Will there be penalties for deferring payment or paying late?

No. If a customer defers payment, no penalties will be applied.

For our residential, farm and small commercial customers who can still make their regular water, sewer and waste collection payment, but for whatever reason, the payment is late, no new penalties will apply after March 19, 2020.

How do I defer a payment?

Customers who need to defer their water, sewer and waste collection payment for up to the next 90 days do not need to call The City. Deferral will happen automatically if your bill is not paid. We encourage customers who are able to pay their bills to continue doing so.

The full balance is due at the end of the 90-day deferral (June 15), so please consider making small payments if you are able. If you are unable to pay the balance of the account by June 15, please contact us by June 19, 2020, at 403-342-8203 and we will support payment arrangements suitable to your situation.

What are the options for paying my water, sewer and waste utility bill?

With limited services available at City Hall, customers are encouraged to pay bills online or by phone (www.reddeer.ca/mycity or 403-342-8203).
