The City of Red Deer is improving pedestrian safety by installing Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacons or RRFB’s in five new locations this month.

Between November 10 and 26, 2021, crews will be installing the structures in the following locations:

  • 32 Street and 44A Avenue
  • Bennett Street and Baker Avenue
  • 69 Street Drive and 59 Avenue

  • Timothy Drive at Barrie Wilson Elementary School

This work includes installation of steel anchor bases, poles, solar panels, crosswalk buttons and the flashing beacons.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and obey all signs while crews are working on the installations. This schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
