(Red Deer, Alberta)

Red Deerians are once again invited join The City at the Budget 2017 Open House, an event where residents can provide input to City Council and City administration on how they would prioritize their tax dollars.

“We are asking residents to provide input to ensure The City’s agenda reflects our community’s needs and priorities,” said Mayor Tara Veer. “The feedback received at this open house will help determine the 2017 operating and capital budgets for The City, and ultimately the future of Red Deer.”

The open house will be held at Festival Hall (4214 58 Street) on Tuesday, April 26.

Residents are invited to drop in between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. to learn about City operations, strategic direction, budget, and have the opportunity to show us how they would prioritize different services The City offers.

“Members of Council and City staff will be on hand to hear your ideas on how you feel your tax dollar should be financed, and also see how their input last year helped us develop the 10 Year Capital Plan,” said City Manager, Craig Curtis. “The feedback we get at this event is extremely valuable.”

Open house attendees will also have the opportunity to see how their feedback provided at previous Budget sessions helped The City plan for amenities required for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

An online survey is available for residents who are unable to make it to the open house. For more information about The City’s budget, the Budget 2017 Open House, or to complete the online survey, please visit www.reddeer.ca/budget.
