North of 11A Major Area Structure Plan public hearing

January 15, 2016 11:45 AM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

A public hearing for the North of 11A Major Area Structure Plan (MASP) is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, January 18 at Council Chambers at Red Deer City Hall. That’s when Council will also consider second and third reading of the adopting bylaw for the MASP.

The North of 11A MASP covers the approximately 1,300 hectare area north of Highway 11A, which is part of the city annexed in 2009. The document will serve as a long-term land use tool to guide future development. The plan addresses the sequence of development, the land uses proposed, the density of population, and the general location of public utilities and major transportation routes in the plan area.

Anyone affected by the MASP can speak before City Council at the hearing.

Development of the MASP has involved extensive consultation with a number of stakeholders.
