Notify Red Deer test alert being sent next Tuesday

Notify Red Deer, The City’s mass notification system, is being tested on Tuesday, August 29.

The test involves sending a message to all contacts in the Notify Red Deer system, including phone numbers registered in the White Pages. Notify Red Deer is used to send critical information to residents in the event of an emergency or unfolding situation, and test events help The City and residents prepare for such events.

Residents are asked to sign up and update their Notify Red Deer profile before Tuesday. When signing up, individuals can choose their preferred method to receive alerts; text, email or phone call and which addresses in the city they want to receive alerts for. Notifications that are sent by text and email are received faster than phone calls.

There is a draw for a one-year family recreation pass for every 5000 residents who sign up. For more information, and to sign up visit:
