April 17, 2019 3:18 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Red Deer Emergency Services remains on scene of a commercial fire on Golden West Avenue south of 67 Street.

The fire is contained; however, firefighters will remain on scene into the evening. At times, heavy equipment will be used, which may result in variable smoke conditions into tomorrow.

Residents on O’Brien Crescent and O’Neil Close are able to return home, but are advised that smoke may persist overnight. The Shelter in Place direction is lifted for Oriole Park and Oriole Park West, however residents may still choose to limit exposure to smoke by staying indoors and closing windows. If residents experience symptoms as a result of the smoke, they are advised to call Health Link at 8-1-1.
