July sees growth in building permits

(Red Deer, Alberta)

After a decrease in applications in June, July saw a healthy rebound in the number of new building permits issued.

Permit totals rose to 136 in July, thanks in part to a significant jump in commercial permits. Residential and public permits also saw modest increases, while the number of industrial permits maintained a status quo.

Notable permits for July include Interior and Exterior Renovations at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools (RDCRS) Monfort Centre, shared with the City of Red Deer’s Cultural Services, located at 3827 – 39 Street. RDCRS is also undertaking Secure Entry Renovations at four RDCRS schools; St. Martin de Porres (3911 57A Ave.), St. Elizabeth Seton (35 Addinell Ave.), St. Francis Assisi (321 Lindsay Ave.) and St. Thomas Aquinas (3821 39 St.). Red Deer Mitsubishi was also awarded a permit to undertake exterior image renovations.
