Downtown tree pruning set to begin next week

July 11, 2019 11:59 AM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

Parks aerial lift trucks (bucket trucks) will be pruning city owned trees in the downtown area between 48 and 52 Street and 47 and 51 Avenue. Work will take place on weekdays beginning July 15, 2019 with an expected completion date of August 2, 2019.

Driving lane and parking closures will be intermittent between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and
1:30 p.m., and will be signed accordingly. We ask that residents and commercial businesses adhere to safety and traffic control signage to maintain adequate safe work zones between the public, our arborists and crews. The City thanks members of the public for their patience and cooperation.

City tree maintenance is part of a rotational program that includes pruning for safety, plant health care and clearance. Thank you for helping us endeavor to keep our city safe and green.
