The City of Red Deer is preparing to conclude the community engagement phase of the development of the new Community Housing and Homelessness Integrated Plan (CHHIP). As a follow up to community engagement sessions held over the last several months, citizens are invited to an open house to hear initial findings.
At the open house, initial findings from the consultation phase, including the online survey and the Design Labs, will be presented. There will be opportunities for citizens to provide feedback on the findings and validate that they align with the engagement process.
“As we come to the close of our engagement process for this plan, we are looking forward to sharing our initial findings,” said Tricia Hercina, Social Planning Manager. “Under the Ad Hoc Committee’s direction, we have engaged with and heard from over 2,500 citizens and stakeholders throughout the community, and now we want to close the loop and ensure that we are on the right track.”
Details of the open house are as follows:
- Tuesday, September 10
- 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (30-minute presentations throughout the day at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.)
- Dawe Recreation Centre (56 Holt Street), Training Room 3
- No pre-registration required
Following the open house, City Council’s CHHIP Ad Hoc Committee, along with the consultant hired for this project, will be developing a draft plan. Later this fall, the plan will be presented to City Council for consideration.
