Red Deerians can look forward to returning to modified recreation and culture programs this fall. The City is currently planning fall programs within the current public health guidelines.
In July, The City began offering registered activities, including lane swimming, aquatic fitness classes, outdoor fitness classes, indoor track and fitness use and fieldhouse/gymnasium use. Additionally, registered programs including day camps and some swimming lessons are available.
As we approach the fall, planning is underway for the return of registered programs. We are working hard to develop programs that meet public health guidelines and provide an enjoyable experience for guests. While we may not be able to offer all of the programs citizens are used to seeing, we hope to offer various program options in aquatics, arts and culture, family activities, fitness and wellness, and sports.
“Our recreation and culture staff have been hard at work preparing for the return of fall programming in a way that keeps both staff and customers safe,” said Barb McKee, Recreation Superintendent. “We are happy to welcome Red Deerians back to our facilities for programming this fall and look forward to bringing our community together for fitness, fun and creative expression.”
As previously identified, due to the ever-changing COVID-19 response, the 2020 fall Activity Guide will not be produced. Alternatively, Red Deerians are invited to create their own online custom Activity Guide at www.reddeer.ca/myactivityguide. You can also register for programs from MyActivity Guide, using your Look n’ Book account.
Fall program offerings will be available for viewing on Thursday, August 20. An online tutorial is available to get you started with MyActivity Guide and Look ‘n Book.
Registration for fall programming begins at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26. Citizens are encouraged to register online using Look ’n Book. You can also register for programs from MyActivity Guide, using your Look n’ Book account. For those without internet access, please call 403-309-8411. In-person registration will not be available.
Prior to registration day, customers are encouraged to login to their Look ‘n Book account to explore available programs and ensure their account is functioning properly. New account creation can take up to three business days, so sign up early to avoid registration day delays.
