The Red Deer Recreation Centre will reopen for recreation and culture activities starting Monday, September 14, 2020. The facility will operate at reduced hours to start, while City staff work to monitor and respond to community demand. Detailed hours of operation will be posted to The City’s website in the coming week.
Access to the indoor pool, fitness studios, meeting spaces and visual art studios will be available for user group rentals, activity reservations and registered programs. Red Deerians who wish to access the facility can view available program and activity options at http://looknbook.reddeer.ca. Pre-booking is required for all visitors and online registration is available.
“We are excited to reopen our doors for the public with a continued focus on ensuring the health and safety of all staff, citizens and customers,” said Shelley Gagnon, Recreation, Parks and Culture Manager. “We have enhanced cleaning protocols, reduced class sizes and facility modifications are in place to protect everyone in all City facilities. We also ask that citizens continue to adhere to all public health orders, and consider wearing a mask when visiting the facility.”
City Hall will continue to provide services from the Recreation Centre, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. weekdays. Despite the Recreation Centre being open, City Hall services such as permitting and ticket payment will not be available outside of these hours.
Visitors to the Recreation Centre are asked to wear a mask when a distance of two metres from others cannot be maintained.
