At today’s regular City Council meeting, Red Deer City Council received an update on the status of COVID-19 in Red Deer.
City Manager Allan Seabrooke provided an update on The City’s municipal response to COVID-19, case numbers for Red Deer, and a review of the Alberta Health public health measures in place.
Today, Council also set a Special Meeting for November 16, 2020. At that meeting, administration will provide a more detailed report, and Council will review the existing and possible new safety measures for Red Deer.
The City’s Emergency Operations Centre will remain in close contact with Alberta Health officials as The City assesses the need for additional safety measures in Red Deer. These decisions continue to be dependents on recommendations of the health authority, which may include, but is not limited to enhancements to our existing face covering bylaw, tightening restrictions at City facilities or any other gathering restrictions mandated by Alberta Health.
Citizens are reminded that in-person attendance at City Council meetings is not permitted at this time; however, City Council meetings can viewed online at www.reddeer.ca.
