Red Deer RCMP charge man with counselling to commit murder

Red Deer, Alberta – After an investigation of several months, Red Deer RCMP have charged a Lacombe man with counselling to commit murder.

On April 28, Red Deer RCMP received information that led them to open an investigation regarding a man suspected of counselling to commit murder. As a result of the investigation, 51 year old Robert John Bjorkman of Lacombe has been charged with one count of CC 464(a) – Counselling to commit murder.

Red Deer RCMP arrested Bjorkman without incident on July 28 with assistance from Lacombe Police Service. Bjorkman has been remanded in custody; he made his first court appearance this morning, August 2, and will appear in Alberta Provincial Court in Red Deer again at 9:30 am on August 9.

No further information will be provided on this matter as it is now before the courts.
