Red Deer, Alta. – A Red Deer man is facing drug and other charges after a week-long investigation by the Red Deer RCMP and the Alberta Sheriffs.
In partnership with the Alberta Sheriffs Safe Communities and Neighbourhoods unit, the Red Deer RCMP General Investigation Section conducted an investigation into suspected drug activity at an apartment complex on Boyce Street in Red Deer.
On June 5, 2019, a search warrant was executed and police seized 33 grams of cocaine, over $6000 in Canadian currency, and two weapons.
Douglas Allan McFarlane (66) of Red Deer has been charged with seven Criminal Code offences including:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Possession of a scheduled substance
- Breach of recognizance (x4)
Douglas McFarlane has been remanded into custody to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on June 25, 2019.
