Red Deer RCMP arrest suspect in March 29 shooting

Red Deer, Alta.- Red Deer RCMP are no longer looking for the suspect wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred on March 29 in Riverside Meadows.

Brian Stephens, 40, of Red Deer was arrested by Red Deer RCMP on April 16 with the assistance of ALERT and ERT. Stephens is in remand with his next court appearance on Monday, April 20.

Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are looking for the suspect in connection to an aggravated assault that occurred in Riverside Meadows on March 29. 

40-year-old Brian Stephens of Red Deer is wanted by Red Deer RCMP and is charged with aggravated assault, robbery with firearm, six additional firearm charges and two counts of failing to comply.

Police believe Brian Stephens is in Red Deer and he is described as:

  • 5”11’
  • 185 lbs
  • Brown hair
  • Brown eyes

April 1, 2020

Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP are investigating an aggravated assault that happened Sunday in Riverside Meadows.

At approximately 5 p.m. on March 29, police responded to a 9-1-1 call of a gun shot in the area of 54 Avenue and 59 Street. A 47-year-old male from Red Deer was the victim of a targeted shooting and was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect and the victim are believed to know each other and both are involved in the drug trade.

RCMP continue to investigate the incident. More details will be shared in the coming days.
