Red Deer RCMP seek public assistance after hit and run with pedestrian - UPDATE

Red Deer, Alta. – Red Deer RCMP have located the vehicle and driver connected to this incident. Red Deer RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance.

The male driver faces charges under the Traffic Safety Act, including failure to remain the scene of an accident.



July 7, 2020

Red Deer, Alta. – Yesterday evening, a pedestrian was the victim of a hit and run on Gaetz Avenue at 43 Street. 

The pedestrian was crossing the southbound lanes of Gaetz Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. when they were struck by an older model four-door silver Pontiac Grand Prix. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle reversed and drove eastbound on 43 Street. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A photo of the vehicle is attached. A front headlight was broken during the incident. The driver is described as an older male with white scruffy hair and was wearing a red plaid jacket.
