Corridor Community Gallery

The Corridor Community Gallery is hosted by The City of Red Deer Community Development. This space, adjacent to our ceramic arts studio in the lower level of the Recreation Centre (4501 47A Avenue), provides a public venue for local emerging and established artists and allows us to share in the talents and interests of fellow community members.

Goals

  • To support a variety of community arts practitioners, community groups and individuals at all levels of experience by providing exhibition space,
  • To encourage conversation about art,
  • To highlight the visual arts in spaces adjacent to our studio in the Recreation Centre to help create an environment that reflects and celebrates the arts activity in the facility.

Exhibition Proposals

The Corridor Community Gallery invites exhibition proposals from individual artists and groups representing diverse artistic practices and experience levels. Proposals and exhibition ideas are welcome at any time.

This area accommodates two-dimensional artwork in nine exhibition frames, measuring 24 x 30”.  The frames are mounted securely to the walls in fixed formats: two are positioned horizontally or “landscape” style / and seven are positioned vertically or “portrait” style. There is also a display case than can accommodate small three-dimensional artwork such as sculpture or ceramics.

Proposals will be considered based on fit, suitability for the space, and taking into consideration the public setting.  A diversity of artists’ voices will also be a consideration in selection.
