Playground Zone - 30 km/h

Speed restrictions in playground zones are currently effective 8:30 a.m. to one hour after sunset every day.

On August 1, 2017, playground zones will be effective 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. every day. Time tabs will be added to signs for clarification.

Combination Zone - 30 km/h

Red Deer currently has more than 50 combination zones, which are signed with both school zone and playground zone signs. Effective times of these zones are 8 a.m. to one hour after sunset on school days, and 8:30 a.m. to one hour after sunset all other days. For consistency and to reduce confusion, all combination zones will be changed to playground zones starting August 1.
