Summer Day Camps

We are working hard to prepare summer day camps for your children to experience play, laughter and fun while developing relationships and a sense of mastery all while under the safe supervision of a caring adult.

Register your children aged 3-12 or youth aged 13-17 in one of many summer options including private swim lessons, fitness programs, family programming and week-long, full and half-day Camps. Camps are available for July and August, running Monday-Friday.

Summer Day Camps FAQs

What age groups are being offered?

We are offering summer day camps to children and youth aged 3-17.

  • Full-day camp options are available for children aged 3-12;
  • Half-day summer camp options are available for children aged 3-12 and youth aged 13-17.
What types of programs will be offered?

The City will offer small group sizes in multiple locations throughout the city. Full and half day Camps will be available. Camps will provide summer activity for children to experience play, laughter and fun while developing relationships and a sense of mastery - all while under the safe supervision of a caring adult.

What locations will be used?

Summer programs will be offered in designated areas within multiple City facilities.

The facilities will be:

  • Collicutt Centre
  • G.H. Dawe Community Centre (August)
  • Recreation Centre
  • Michener Aquatic Centre
  • Setter's Place
  • Intermediate School - Culture Services

What safety measures will be in place?

The City of Red Deer staff are working hard to prepare for the return of your children to summer programming. Staff will be using all appropriate PPE, there is available hand sanitizer stations at all facilities, designating sick rooms, physically distant activities, using designated entrances and more. More information will be given to parents upon registration.

Will swimming be included in the day camps?
Full-day summer day camps will include a swimming component, with the exception of camps occuring at Setters Place.
Will there be before and after care?

Extended day Camp hours are available at both the Collicutt and GH Dawe Centre camps. New this year, camps from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

When will registration open?

Registration for half-day camps is open now, and registration for new full-day camps and programs begins Thursday June 10, 2021 at 12 p.m. (noon) and will be completed exclusively online. To register, visit https://looknbook.reddeer.ca/

Is fee assistance available?

Those currently in the Fee Assistance Program can use account balances to register online or by phone. Due to a recent software upgrade, credits are now accessible through online Look ‘n Book accounts and available on the payments screen. Please note that by phoning you may not be able to speak with a customer service representative immediately and therefore will not automatically reserve your space in the program. We will not be accepting new applications for the Fee Assistance Program at this time.

Can I use online credits to register?

In the event that provincial health restrictions do not allow for the operation of summer programs, all registrants will receive direct communications and a full refund to their method of payment.
