Calendar of Events and Dates of Recognition

The City of Red Deer has made it a priority to foster a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. Starting in 2024, we intentionally celebrate cultural events and days that reflect the vibrant diversity of our community. Residents will continue to see this commitment reflected in City communications, including our website and social media channels, throughout the year.

Each date is an occasion to celebrate the diverse population in our community and achievements that have been made towards a more equitable society. They are opportunities to learn more about other cultures and communities, and to find ways we can all make our city more welcoming and accessible.

Our efforts include honouring traditional Canadian holidays alongside many cultural events and days of recognition that are important to the diverse people who call Red Deer home. Through these initiatives, we aim to foster opportunities for learning, understanding, and connection among all residents.

Our goal is to help ensure every resident feels valued, welcomed, and proud to be part of Red Deer.
