2021 Artists and Festival

Meet the Street is an inclusive arts and culture experience that celebrates visual and performance art, music and meaningful community partnerships in Red Deer's downtown core. 2021 was the first year of the Meet the Street Festival. Learn more about the 2021 murals, artists and festival.

In 2021, the inaugural Meet the Street created opportunities for 15 new murals in Red Deer’s downtown area. The murals were painted by 14 artists during the summer, and a festival was held in September to celebrate the completion of the murals. The project started with visual and safety improvements to two central alleys that included installation of full spectrum lighting and music speakers. The project culminated in a festival that invited the community to join us in a celebration of the completion of the murals. Highlights included live music and performances along with interactive arts and theatre activities in the downtown core.
