Rip 'n Rec Summer Pass

The Rip ‘n Rec Summer Pass allows children and youth aged 17 years and under admission to all City recreation facilities and the ride to get there! This summer special will transport your child to fun!

The 2025 Rip ‘n Rec pass is valid from June 23 – September 1, 2025. 

Passes are $50 and will be available to purchase beginning Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

What does the Rip ‘n Rec pass get you?

  • unlimited rides on Red Deer Transit, anywhere in the city
  • unlimited access to all four of The City's recreation centres including:
    • drop in activities
    • swimming at the indoor and outdoor pools
    • gym activities like badminton and basketball
    • fitness areas
      • youth must complete a mandatory Youth Fitness Orientation at each facility they plan to use. Pre-register for the Youth Fitness Orientation online on Look 'n Book, in-person at any City recreation facility or by calling 403-309-8411. Note: a $10 fee is applicable for each facility's Youth Fitness Orientation, payable at the time of registration.
      • Have a parent or guardian print and sign a Youth Fitness Orientation Consent Form (pdf), returning it completed at the scheduled Youth Orientation. Paper copies are available at the facility.

Passes are valid at the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Michener Aquatic Centre or Recreation Centre.

Collicutt Centre
  • Swimming: Youth must be 8 years old and over to access the swimming pools. Any child under 8 years old must be accompanied by someone 16 years or older.
  • Fitness & Wellness Studio: Youth 13 years and older can access the Fitness & Wellness Studio as long as they have completed the orientation.
  • Gymnasium:  Youth 8 years old and over can access the gym to play basketball, badminton, volleyball, floor hockey and more!
  • Walking Track: Youth 13 years and older can use the Walking Track as long as they have completed the orientation. Youth 8 -12 years old can use the Walking Track on Wednesdays from 4 – 5 p.m. (without guardian).
G.H. Dawe Community Centre
  • Swimming: Youth must be 8 years old and over to access the swimming pools. Any child under 8 years old must be accompanied by someone 16 years or older.
  • Gymnasium:  Youth 8 years old and over can access the gym to play basketball, badminton, volleyball, floor hockey and more!
  • Weight Room: Youth 16 years and over are welcome to use the Weight Room after completing the orientation.
  • Fitness & Wellness Studio: Youth 13 years and older can access the Fitness & Wellness Studio as long as they have completed the orientation.
  • Walking Track: Youth 13 years and older can use the Walking Track as long as they have completed the orientation.
Michener Centre
  • Swimming: Youth must be 8 years old and over to access the swimming pools. Any child under 8 years old must be accompanied by someone 16 years or older.
Recreation Centre
  • Swimming: Youth must be 8 years old and over to access the swimming pools. Any child under 8 years old must be accompanied by someone 16 years or older.
  • Pass includes the outdoor swimming pool.
  • Weight Room: Youth 16 years and over are welcome to use the Weight Room after completing the orientation.
