City encourages use of MyCity to access account information during postal delays

(Red Deer, Alberta)

With postal services resuming yesterday, The City of Red Deer advises customers to expect significant delivery delays due to a backlog in the system. Canada Post has stated customers should expect delivery delays “through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025”.

The City will resume mailing invoices and legislated correspondence this week, but customers may not receive them before payment deadlines. If customers are unsure of their account balance, please contact us or login to MyCity to ensure important deadlines are not missed. Payments of bills and invoices are still due on the specified dates and late penalties will not be waived due to the postal disruption.

City of Red Deer administrative offices are closed December 25 through January 1, reopening January 2, 2025. During this time, staff are not available to assist customers. Those with questions or balance inquiries are encouraged to call 403-342-8111 for assistance before December 24, 2024.

Anyone who needs to make a payment during the administrative closure can continue to do so in the following ways:

  • In person at a bank or other financial institution
  • Online or by phone through your bank
  • By signing up for pre-authorized withdrawals online through your MyCity account
  • Using the drop boxes located at both City Hall entrances

MyCity is the best way to access City account information related to utility billing, property tax, licences and permits. Residents are encouraged to visit RedDeer.ca/MyCity to learn more and create a profile to be able to view their account details at any time.
