City reminds residents to be aware of open catch basins and manhole covers

The city of Red Deer has received more than a usual number of complaints about missing or open manhole covers and catch basins and are reminding residents to report such instances if they see them.

When manhole covers or catch basins are removed, it poses a risk to drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists and anyone using the roadway or green space. Anyone who notices that a grate or cover is missing or being tampered with should call 403-342-8750 immediately to report.
