(Red Deer, Alberta)

Since May, City Council has been actively looking for a new City Manager to lead operations at The City of Red Deer. Following the retirement of City Manager, Allan Seabrooke, Tara Lodewyk has been leading the organization as Acting City Manager, and will continue to lead until the successful candidate is found.

“Until we find a successful candidate, we are happy to announce that Acting City Manager Tara Lodewyk is being appointed Interim City Manager effective July 30. We have complete confidence in her leadership, and on behalf of Council, want to thank her for stepping up to the plate over the last several months,” said Mayor Tara Veer. “We understand the landscape is strong in finding the right person to lead The City’s operations and we are confident we will find the right candidate who already lives our RISE principles and will lead with stability, integrity and accountability.”

The term for Tara Lodewyk as Interim City Manager is until February 28 but may be adjusted dependent on recruitment.

”I am always happy to step up and help. I have a strong and supportive administrative team in addition to the ten years of leadership experience, community relationships and knowledge,” said Acting City Manager Tara Lodewyk. “I love this city and look forward to leading us through until a new City Manager is hired.”

The City is committed to sharing information about the recruitment process for the next City Manager. As more information is available, it will be released.
