Building permit values continue rising in May

Building permit values continued to rise in May, with 107 approved permits valued at just over $14 million, compared with 48 permits issued in May 2020 worth $2.4 million.

Year-to-date building permits remain lower in 2021, with current values at $44 million compared with $89.3 million last year.

Notable permits include:

  • Building permit for Red Deer Emergency Services headquarters renovations at 4340 32 Street, valued at $4 million
  • Building permit for construction of a 10 unit multi-family residential building at 4506 47A Avenue, valued at $1.9 million
  • Building permit for car wash at 110-3115 50 Avenue, valued at $1.5 million
  • Building permit for a single storey commercial lease building at 20-1000 Sharpe Avenue, valued at $800,000
  • Building permit for tenant improvements to dentist office at 90-3140 Thorburn Avenue, valued at $435,000
