May 21, 2021 1:00 PM
(Red Deer, Alberta)

At the end of day today, City Manager Allan Seabrooke officially retires, which means a shift in leadership at The City of Red Deer. Tara Lodewyk will move to Acting City Manager until a new City Manager is hired by City Council through a formal hiring process.

Tara Lodewyk has been working with The City for nine years, and has been leading a division for five of those years. In 2020, she took on the role of General Manager of the Development and Protective Services (DPS) division.

While Lodewyk works as Acting City Manager, the DPS division will be led by Ken McMullen as Acting General Manager. The role of Acting Manager/Chief of Emergency Services will be filled on a rotational basis with Deputy Chief Tyler Pelke filling the position for the first five weeks, followed by Deputy Chief Chris Kearns.
