On May 26, 2021, the provincial government released a three phased plan to reopening, with the first phase beginning on Tuesday, June 1.

As a result of the provincial announcement, the outdoor pool at the Recreation Centre will open for Household Activity Reservations and lane swim individual reservations on Thursday, June 3. As well, outdoor fitness will once again offer classes beginning June 1 and summer day camps are open for registration now - for camp options beginning in July. The Blue Grass Sod Farm Central Spray and Play and the water feature at Kin Kanyon will open for public use on Saturday, May 29.

“We are very much looking forward to a summer full of recreation and culture opportunities, and are happy to get the ball rolling on some of them now,” said Barb McKee, Recreation Superintendent. “The outdoor pool at the Recreation Centre will be operational for the first time since 2019. We are thrilled the community can access this amenity once again - and for a limited time, rent a portion of the pool for one hour for just $25.”

The outdoor pool will be available by Household Activity Reservation, or through lane swimming individual Activity Reservations only. Households may rent either the deep end, or shallow end for a one hour period.

Activity Reservations are bookable beginning on Saturday, May 29 through Look ‘n Book.
