Public Hearing for interim shelter site on May 25

Council is seeking public feedback on the Land Use Bylaw amendment that would allow the interim shelter to continue operating at its current location until May 31, 2022. Council passed first reading on the Land Use Bylaw amendment on April 29, before considering second and third hearing on May 25, the Public Hearing process will take place.

Public Hearings are Council’s opportunity to obtain feedback from citizens impacted by the potential zoning change. Citizens who would like to have their feedback included in the Council agenda must submit by May 21, other feedback received in advance after this date will be provided to Council. The following are the options to provide feedback to Council:

  • By phone during the live virtual public hearing: members of the public can call into the Public Hearing via phone conference by dialing 1-833-714-0895 and entering 42996496. This is an opportunity for citizens to share their concerns and thoughts but not an opportunity for citizens to pose questions to Council. The time limit for comments will strictly be held at 10 minutes, which includes group representations.
