Not-for-profit organizations that deliver arts, culture and heritage initiatives in Red Deer are invited to apply for funding through The City of Red Deer’s Community Culture Development Fund – Culture Development category.

This grant program, launched in 2016, provides financial support to assist organizations in building capacity to provide a service, managing a cultural facility, acting as an umbrella organization for other cultural organizations, developing new programs or services, or hosting a special event or festival.

The Culture Development category provides funding for up to three years, and applications are due September 30, 2022. A total of $400,000 is available, with a maximum of $30,000 per applicant. A second category, Culture Opportunities, offers support for short-notice and/or one-time costs with the next funding cycle beginning January 2023.

“Arts and culture are all around us, enhancing our daily lives,” said Bobby-Jo Stannard, Community Development Superintendent. “From performances and festivals to workshops and equipment purchases, the Community Culture Development Fund continues to support Red Deer’s vibrant arts and culture scene by encouraging unique initiatives and providing funding to organizers.”

Interested applicants are invited to attend an optional orientation session August 17 at 9:00 a.m. or August 18 at 1:00 p.m. The sessions are held virtually (via Zoom), and pre-registration is not required. Visit the web link below to obtain a link to the session.
