City Council accepted and ratified a new two-year collective agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 569 at its Regular Council meeting on February 28, 2022.
ATU and The City met over eight days of bargaining and one day of mediation. Negotiations were conducted in a respectful and productive manner, resulting in a tentative memorandum of agreement.
ATU members ratified the memorandum of agreement on February 7, 2022. The agreement is in effect from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022. While the new agreement includes several mutually beneficial changes, wages will remain the same. This collective agreement covers approximately 120 employees in the City’s Transit and Fleet department.
