“We’re excited to continue the momentum that the first Meet the Street brought to downtown Red Deer last summer, and we’re thrilled to partner with Centrefest on this year’s festival. Street performances are a natural fit with the creative energy of other Meet the Street components and we’re so happy to be working together,” said Bobby-Jo Stannard, Community Development Superintendent. “And, we’re looking forward to celebrating a new series of murals by talented artists that will further increase the beauty and vibrancy in the centre of our city.”

Meet the Street Arts & Culture Festival with Centrefest Street Performers Festival will take place September 3-4 in Parking Lot P4, City Hall Park, and on Ross Street, between 49 Avenue and 50 Avenue (“Little Gaetz”). The event is free to attend, and guests of all ages are welcome. Highlights include mural tours, live music, vendors, kids’ activities (including Circus World), plus the excitement of Centrefest street performances.

“After a two-year hiatus, we are thrilled to return with such amazing support and partnership with The City of Red Deer,” said Robert Palmer, Artistic Director of Red Deer Summer Centrefest Society. “Being able to combine these two incredible events to provide a celebration of visual, musical, and performance art is something we have been dreaming of for many years. We are really excited to be a part of it and bring professional street performers from Canada and around the world back to downtown Red Deer.”
