Administration is recommending City Council give all three readings to the annual property tax rate bylaw at their next regular meeting, Monday, April 17.
The property tax rate bylaw sets the rates for collecting taxes to support the annual City budget, which was approved with a 4.61 per cent increase.
Monday’s meeting also includes consideration of the Business Improvement Area (BIA) tax rate bylaw. The BIA tax rate bylaw applies to taxable businesses located in the Business Improvement Area of downtown and funds the Downtown Business Association (DBA) operating budget. The DBA budget was approved by City Council in December.
