City Council and I would like to offer our official congratulations on this historic day as we join the Commonwealth and the world to mark the Coronation of its new monarch, His Majesty King Charles III.
This historic event, the first coronation of a Canadian Head of State and Monarch in seven decades, will allow communities to come together and highlight themes that both King Charles III and Canadians hold dear, including service, the environment and sustainability, and our nation’s diversity.
Throughout his early naval career and later involvement with more than 400 organizations around the world, His Majesty King Charles III has demonstrated his dedication to public service. He has demonstrated a commitment to education, the environment, and the empowerment of young people and we have no doubt this will provide a strong foundation from which he will continue to work to advance the Commonwealth and its people.
On behalf of City Council, we offer our congratulations to Canada’s new King, His Majesty King Charles III, and mark the start of a new chapter in our country’s history.
